With April around the corner, states and countries are in various phases of reopening and each league is encouraged to stay current with its local and state officials for returning to fields and the most recent on-field guidance from Little League®. Time is winding down on the Lift Your League online fundraising campaign, which wraps up on March 31. If your league is participating, make sure to take advantage of this opportunity to help your league. Need help? Check out the marketing toolkit for ideas! Also, see how Little League is celebrating #GirlsWithGame. Throughout March, consider ways to celebrate the girls and women who are part of your league.

Things to Do and Know in March:

  • Registration data is to be uploaded to the Little League® Data Center. The process can be done as player and volunteer registrations are processed. Each upload will overwrite the previous submission, so it is not necessary to wait until late registration is completed to submit.
  • Leagues utilizing "Sports Connect" to register players will automatically have that information sent to Little League International, helping to fulfill Regulation IV(g) and ASAP Requirement 14. Little League has extended the deadline for ASAP Requirement #14 (Registration Data) to May 7.
  • Submit your league’s 2021 A Safety Awareness Program (ASAP) plan through the Little League Data Center. A best practice is to include your league’s efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 at your league events in your ASAP Safety Plan. You are encouraged to follow your state and local guidance, as well as information from the CDC, and the Best Practices from Little League.
  •
  • The 2021 season’s ASAP Plan submission deadline is April 16, 2021.
  • Share your league’s current bylaws with the District Administrator; and post the bylaws on the your league website.
  • The Little League Rulebook app is up-to-date. And 2021 Rulebooks are also now available for Amazon Kindle. Become familiar with the significant changes and note that the updated Make the Right Call has been added to the app content. "Please view this video" on the 2021 rules for further information.
  • Please note that as of March 18, the print version of the Little League Baseball Rulebook is sold out through the Little League Store. Please continue to check LittleLeague.org/Rules for the latest information.
  • The Little League Rulebook App is permitted for use in the dugout (Rule 3.17, Note)
  • The approximate number of background checks to be completed by your league is based on chartered teams for this season. If you are not sure of the projected number, check your Little League Data Center account.
  • Remember to do background checks on all umpires, regardless of whether they are volunteers or service-provided contractors. Every umpire must be background checked before any games can be assigned.
  • If you have the need to request a waiver(s), work with your District Administrator to submit those requests to the Charter Committee via the Regional Office. Note that all out-of-boundary player waivers must be submitted to, and acted on by, the District Administrator prior to those players can participate in any games.
  •
  • Consider interleague playspecial games and Sandlot Fun Days as options to expand scheduling opportunities.
  • Any local league considering "Streaming" games: via the Internet or through its website and/or social media page(s) is encouraged to review Little League's Streaming FAQs, Guidance, and Policies.
